2027 committee
Could you spare a bit of time?
We're looking for people to help run Seaforth Netball in 2027, and we're genuinely short. Most of it is a few hours a month, shared between several people β the more hands, the less anyone has to do. If you can spare a bit of time, we'd love to hear from you: it's a good bunch of people and the club only works because parents put their hand up.
What it actually involves
- A job shared is a job halved.Almost nothing here is one person's job. The uniform shop with four people helping is barely any work each; with one, it is a job. Put your hand up for a bit of something and it stays a bit of something.
- Most roles are a few hours a month. Some are busier for a few weeks around registration or finals, then quiet again.
- You can start as an assistant. Nearly every job has one β you help whoever is doing it, see what it actually takes, and decide later whether you want more. Plenty of people never want more, and that is genuinely fine.
- We meet once a month, usually an hour, and plenty gets sorted in a group chat between times.
- You won't be thrown in. Whoever is doing the job now will walk you through it, and nobody is left to work it out alone.
- You don't need a netball background. Half the useful jobs are admin, events, comms or sponsorship.
